American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of experience, RCIS or ARRT certification, and strong radiologic skills for a Level 1 trauma cardiac cath lab. Responsibilities
Position is in a hospital-based cardiac cath lab setting with acute care responsibilities Work in 3 total suites: two diagnostic suites and one hybrid OR suite, primarily used for TAVR procedures Patient population includes CAD, advanced heart failure, cardiac transplant, shock, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy Average daily caseload is 10-15 cases Procedures include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, with EP limited to emergent pacers Uses Epic EMR, along with MERGE, GE, AGFA, and IVUS equipment Shifts are 4x10s, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, with flexibility for 3x12s if needed On-call required: one night per week and one weekend every 4-6 weeks No floating required; assignment remains strictly in the cath lab Responsible for X-ray operation during procedures, sterile prep and procedure table setup, and managing case-specific equipment Unit has a team-based structure with a charge nurse and chief technologist support Self-scheduling is permitted, and holiday call coverage is negotiable based on unit needs OR scrubs are provided Department is open to IR and procedural techs interested in transitioning to the cath lab One week of unit-specific orientation provided, with option for a second week if needed Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required Must have either RCIS or ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) certification Current ACLS and BLS certifications required COVID and Flu vaccinations required Previous experience with radiologic technology or procedural labs preferred Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes Experience using Epic EMR, MERGE, GE, AGFA, and IVUS systems Benefits
