Dental Assistant – Heartland Dental (Venice, FL)

Full‑time position: 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Tuesday–Friday.

More About The Role

  • Greet and welcome patients, sustain comfort, and provide appropriate education throughout treatment.
  • Conduct thorough review of patient health history to provide quality care.
  • Take and process x‑rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography, etc.).
  • Provide superior chairside assistance (four‑handed dentistry) to supported dentists during procedures, in accordance with the state dental practice act.
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
  • Prepare treatment room following strict safety protocols and OSHA/CDC recommendations.
  • Manage supply and inventory levels, and place and expedite orders as needed.
  • Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
  • Certification as a dental assistant and/or x‑ray certification, if required by state law.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Background in PHI protection and regular HIPAA training.

Preferred Experience

  • At least one year of experience in a dental setting.
  • Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
  • Certification from a dental assisting school.

Physical Requirements

  • Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times.
  • Availability for virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test required for all new hires in dental office positions; completed prior to start of employment.
