Job Summary Overview
The Government Guaranteed Loan Processor & Closer II is a vital role to the origination process by coordinating with members, lenders, sales agents, and escrow companies, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure loans are processed and closed accurately, efficiently, timely and in accordance with Credit Union, SBA and USDA guidelines and regulatory requirements. Responsible for analyzing business loan structures to determine the appropriate due diligence required based on risk, policy and regulatory guidelines. Ensuring loans are documented and funded in accordance with the credit approval and or purchase contract. This position is to provide an excellent member experience both internally and externally while ensuring all compliance requirements are met.
Essential Job Functions Demonstrates and appropriately applies a strong, working knowledge of diverse government guaranteed loan documentation, legal & regulatory requirements, policies and procedures Reviews and understands the loan approval to determine borrower, collateral, guarantor, loan structure requirements, determines due diligence requirements and prepares an SBA Master Needs List accordingly Ensures good faith deposit is received and proof uploaded to the loan origination system Understands, determines and obtains appropriate approval for compliance requirements, such as Commercial Customer Identification Program (CIP), BSA, ECOA, OFAC, etc. Communicates proactively with the borrower(s), sales, credit, external partners and 3rd party vendors while ensuring the credit union meets the closing deadlines and expectations of the borrower Orders and reviews third party reports, such as, title commitments, flood certifications, Certificate of Good Standing, UCC searches, site visits, tax, lien and judgment searches, Tax Transcripts, CAIVRS and any other required reports as necessary Prepares loan closing documentation using loan documentation system Works with CDC to obtain Debenture funding on 504 Loans Collaborates with Government Guaranteed Servicing to ensure loans are boarded accurately, and according to the loan approval Collaborate with Portfolio Manager for any Change in terms on existing loans Promptly and accurately determines when underwriting approval conditions have been satisfied or takes appropriate corrective action to resolve discrepancies while escalating questions or disputes to appropriate level when needed Determines closing date expectations and advises sales and credit of obstacles that may impede meeting member's expectations Mitigates risk by clearing liens and credit approval conditions for all loans prior to closing Coordinates the closing with all parties concerned including internal and external attorneys (as applicable), title companies, members, and loan officers to ensure funding deadlines and expectations are met Prepares the loan funding and disbursement package by reviewing settlement statements, and balancing the loan disbursements with escrow/title Provides direction for the disbursement of all loan proceeds, and any funds held back for construction Submits the loan file for pre-close review and resolves any identified discrepancies prior to closing loan Understands and reviews loan presentation for correct coding needed for portfolio and regulatory reporting purposes, such as loan purpose, collateral type, etc. Manages workload by monitoring and updating the pipeline report as needed to ensure internal SLAs are met Processes Adverse Actions requests Reviews executed loan documents to verify signatures, dates, and other relevant data prior to funding and verifies closing conditions are met Obtain SBA approvals via ETRAN Collaborates with Loan Officers, and/or Portfolio Managers to draft 327 Actions to the SBA Organizes electronic files according to systems standards and understands the loan origination system Inputs applicable ticklers accordingly prior to boarding and collects trailing post close documents Ensures all items are filed with centralized documentation system Enters data and maintains data integrity and accuracy in commercial loan origination system Must be able to perform all responsibilities with occasional supervision and additional duties as assigned. Ensures all loan packages are complete and sent to vault Stays current with and applies credit policy, SBA SOP rules and regulations, and procedures to all transactions to mitigate risk to the Credit Union, protect the loan guaranty, and support a low PARRiS score Coach internal business partners in Government Guaranteed lending loan processes Assists with the handling of member inquiries and ensures appropriate and timely resolution Maintains intimate working knowledge of all required SBA / USDA SOPs and credit policy and procedures and applies to all transactions to mitigate risk to the credit union and support a low PARRiS score Assists and collaborates with credit officer, during OCRM oversight audits Other duties as assigned Requirements
Position Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and five (5) years' experience in Processing/Closing SBA loans or three (3) years of experience in supporting a volume of 3-5 SBA loan closings per month. Proficient knowledge of SBA lending and SOP along with compliance and documentation regulations. Knowledge of LaserPro for loan documentation preparation. Professional written, verbal communication, problem solving, and advanced interpersonal skills, along with the ability to produce quality work within tight time frames while managing multiple assignments. Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work on core processing systems (JHA) and department specific processing systems (Sageworks / Laser Pro). Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel. Strong work ethic, the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing deadlines, , and the desire to work as a team to support the overall success of the credit union. Strong knowledge base about conventional, SBA 7(a) and SBA 504 loan programs, policies and procedures.
