Payroll & Human Resources Specialist
to join our Milwaukee office.
This role is ideal for a dedicated payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, professional services environment. While general HR administrative support is part of this role, the
primary focus is payroll operations , including processing, compliance, reporting, and employee support.
Key Responsibilities: Accurately process
semi-monthly payroll
using ADP Workforce Now or a similar HRIS/payroll platform Calculate hours worked, verify and enter employee timesheets, and
process payroll deductions , benefits, and garnishments Ensure compliance with
federal, state, and local payroll laws
and regulations Maintain and audit payroll records, reports, and documentation for accuracy and confidentiality Reconcile payroll data, prepare reports for accounting and leadership, and assist with year-end tax reporting (e.g., W-2s) Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism, discretion, and a customer-service mindset Collaborate with Human Resources team to support employee onboarding, terminations, benefits administration, and data integrity within HRIS Assist with audits, internal reporting, and ad-hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
3+ years of payroll experience
required; experience in a professional services or law firm setting strongly preferred Proficiency in
ADP Workforce Now
or comparable HRIS/payroll systems is required Strong understanding of
payroll processes, wage and hour laws , payroll tax regulations, and compliance Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field preferred Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential information
