Job Summary Overview
The Government Guaranteed Loan Processor & Closer I is responsible for coordinating with members, lenders, sales agents, and escrow companies, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure loans are processed and closed accurately, efficiently, timely and in accordance with Credit Union, SBA and USDA guidelines and regulatory requirements. Ensuring loans are documented and funded in accordance with the credit approval and/or settlement statements. This position assists where needed in the loan closing process, and an excellent member experience both internally and externally while ensuring all compliance requirements are met.
Essential Job Functions Performs various duties to support government guaranteed agency (SBA, USDA) compliance and ensures quality loan processing and closing to adhere to government agency guidelines Responsible for assisting with the processing and closing of all government guaranteed loans Maintains intimate working knowledge of all required SBA / USDA SOPs to ensure proper oversight and compliance of regulations Ensures good faith deposit is received and proof uploaded into system of record Works with Underwriter, Processor/Closer II, and Team Lead to obtain a complete loan package for underwriting Orders and reviews third party reports, such as, title commitments, flood certifications, Certificate of Good Standing, UCC searches, site visits, tax, lien and judgment searches, Tax Transcripts, CAIVRS and any other required reports as necessary Prepare loan closing documentation using loan documentation system Prepare SBA Master Needs List containing all required due diligence to close the loan Assist with obtaining and reviewing needs list items provided by prospective borrower Review and audit loan origination system prior to initializing integration to documentation system Input loans into ETRAN for review prior to submission to obtain PLP number Complete workflow steps in loan origination system as needed Provides loan file assistance to Processor/Closers and Team Lead as needed Prepare and review lenders closing instructions Submit loan closing documents to appropriate individuals to for sign off Assists with coordinating closing with the title company Process Change in Terms requests as needed Prepare/review closing disbursement sheets for accuracy Assist in Adverse Action process Review executed loan documents for completeness and accuracy Assist in the preparation of loan funding packages Update pipeline report as needed to ensure internal (SLAs) are met Ensure all documentation is uploaded to loan origination system prior to closing and funding Collaborate with Portfolio Manager to prepare necessary documents for post-closing loan modifications Collaborate with Government Guaranteed Loan Servicing prior to boarding to ensure accurate boarding of loan Request memos for pre-closing and/or post-closing loan modifications or corrections to loan presentation Set ticklers and follow up to obtain perfected collateral documents including but not limited to filed UCC-1 fixture filings, recorded DOT/Mortgages and final title policies Assist with responses to Quality Control post close reviews per SLA Other duties as assigned Requirements
Position Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in loan support, preferably commercial loan closing or two (2) years of experience in supporting a volume of 1-2 commercial loan closings per month. Knowledge of SBA lending. Professional written, verbal communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to produce quality work within tight time frames while managing multiple assignments. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work on core processing systems (JHA) and department specific processing systems (Sageworks / Laser Pro). Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel. Strong work ethic, the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing deadlines, and the desire to work as a team to support the overall success of the credit union.
