SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Seeking a dependable and proactive
Assistant Warehouse Manager
to support daily operations at our intermodal warehouse facility in Houston, Texas. This role plays a key part in supervising staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring safety compliance. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in logistics, strong organizational skills, and the ability to step into leadership when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Responsibilities: Assist in supervising warehouse staff and daily logistics. Monitor inventory levels and assist with audits. Ensure adherence to safety and operational procedures. Support training and onboarding of new employees. Step in for the Warehouse Manager as needed. Software Proficiency:
Fishbowl, QuickBooks Commerce, or Zoho Inventory Microsoft Excel (intermediate level) Tools & Machinery Skills:
Forklift and pallet jack operation Use of handheld barcode scanners Familiarity with overhead crane safety and signaling Basic use of steel handling tools (e.g., clamps, chains, rigging gear) Soft Skills:
Team-oriented and dependable Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Effective communicator Initiative-driven and proactive Safety-conscious and detail-focused EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent certification. 2-4 years of experience in warehouse or logistics roles. Associate degree or coursework in logistics, supply chain, or business (preferred).
