Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking
Surgical/Operating Room Technician for an exciting job in
Syracuse, NY. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain the sterile field before, during, and after surgical procedures. Assist surgeons and the operative team by passing instruments, sponges, and supplies as needed. Ensure proper handling, sterilization, and care of surgical instruments and equipment. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote efficiency and patient safety. Maintain strict adherence to
aseptic techniques
and
infection control standards . Verify surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before and after each procedure. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other OR staff. Support patient safety through accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts. Assist in
room turnover, cleaning, and preparation
for subsequent surgeries. Follow hospital and departmental protocols while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times. Required Skills & Experience Minimum
3 years of recent operating room experience
(within the last 4 years) in an
acute care facility
of similar or higher level (Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center). Strong
scrub experience
in
general surgery
and at least
two specialty areas , such as: Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Trauma, Vascular, ENT, Bariatric, GU, or GYN. Experience handling
pediatric and/or adult surgical cases
in a high-volume hospital environment. Excellent
communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills . Ability to perform duties
independently with minimal supervision . Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a
teaching hospital
or
trauma center . Experience working
day and evening shifts
in surgical settings. First-time travelers considered only if experienced in hospitals of comparable size.
