About The Position Job Title: Radiologic Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8 Hour Days, 5x8 variable shifts with weekends, call, and holidays Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Washington state license required Certifications: ARRT certification, BLS certification Must-Have: Must have a Radiology (Rad Tech) license at the time of submission. Must provide a Rad Badge for the traveler. Description: Profile review by clinical staff before sending to the manager for an interview. The Radiology department has 10 x-ray rooms and 34 operating room (OR) rooms. Technologists will cover general radiology, outpatient clinics, inpatient and outpatient fluoroscopy, ER, fluoro/x-ray room in critical care, and OR rooms. Technologists will be scheduled in one area and will rotate areas on a weekly basis. They may need to move areas to cover as needed. Common types of imaging include general radiography, fluoroscopy, OR procedures, and portable imaging. Travelers are expected to be able to cover all areas, including fluoroscopy and OR responsibilities. Knowledge of operating O-arm and C-arm is important. ER experience is preferred. Average number of scans/studies per day in the OR is about 6-7 with just the C-arm. Fluoroscopy averages around 10 exams per day. About 73 general x-rays are performed per day. The electronic medical records (EMR) system includes Cerner Power Chart, RIS, and PACS. Department specific equipment includes Philips x-ray rooms and GE portable machines. The OR uses Ziehm and GE/OEC C-arms as well as a Siemens O-arm. There is a Radiologist available in-house. Shifts vary, starting from 7 AM to 9 AM. Regular staff work 8-hour shifts, but there may be exceptions for 10-hour shifts. Weekend work may be required as needed, along with holiday coverage. Call may also be required as needed. Scrubs in navy, gray, or a mix of both will be provided when working in the OR. Casual clothing is expected when arriving at work and changing is required. The departmental orientation process generally takes about 1 week. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment. This position does not require a BSN. It is a Level 3 trauma care setting. This is within the acute care division.
