Lead ADABAS Mainframe Systems Engineer We are seeking an experienced professional to enhance our clients' Software AG ADABAS environments. This role involves executing mainframe database software upgrades, performing administration and tuning, and ensuring optimal functioning of the database systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with vendor personnel to swiftly address database issues and will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks. Daily duties will include database maintenance, defining database structures, managing backups and restores, monitoring space utilization, and creating disaster recovery plans. Key responsibilities include: Conducting database optimization and performance tuning reviews Onboarding new clients effectively Providing 24/7 on-call support as part of a team rotation Maintaining thorough documentation of all completed tasks Adhering to change management policies Position reports to the Senior Manager of Mainframe Database. What We Are Looking For: Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 10+ years of hands-on experience with Software AG ADABAS/Natural and its related products In-depth expertise in best practices for software management and documentation Expertise in configuring and managing Software AG ADABAS and related products Strong knowledge in the following areas: ADABAS database administration, security, and performance tuning Database design, including FDT and DDM definitions Using ADABAS utilities such as Delta Save Facility, Program Migration tool, etc. Log archiving, change accumulation utilities, and ADARUN parameters Establishing policies and procedures for database management and disaster recovery Managing vendor relations to resolve issues swiftly Supporting both planned and emergency database recovery activities Identifying and remedying production database problems Other Preferred Qualifications: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work collaboratively and support team members Demonstrated responsiveness to client support requests Self-motivated with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks Capable of thriving in fast-paced and high-pressure environments Why Join Us: At Ensono, we strive to create a fulfilling environment that empowers both our clients and associates.
