Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced
Chief Risk Officer (CRO)
to lead our enterprise risk management strategy and safeguard the financial strength, reputation, and sustainability of our organization. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CRO will design and oversee the company’s
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
framework—covering strategic, operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks—while ensuring full alignment with global insurance standards such as
NAIC, Solvency II, and ORSA . This is a highly visible, cross-functional leadership role responsible for ensuring that risk governance is embedded across every part of the organization—from underwriting and claims to investments, operations, and technology. CANDIDATES MUST BE BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH, AND HAVE EXPERIENCE IN LATAM MARKETS TO BE CONSIDERED. What You’ll Do
Lead the enterprise risk function
by designing, implementing, and maintaining a best-in-class ERM framework and governance model. Define and monitor risk appetite and tolerances , ensuring capital adequacy, solvency, and long-term financial resilience. Oversee key risk areas
across underwriting, claims, reinsurance, investment, and liquidity in collaboration with Actuarial and Finance teams. Drive operational and cyber risk management , implementing RCSA programs, business continuity (BCP/DRP) testing, and third-party oversight. Provide independent oversight
through regular reporting to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Audit/Risk Committees. Lead the ORSA and stress testing processes , ensuring compliance with all regulatory and rating agency requirements. Cultivate a strong risk culture
by coaching business leaders, developing analytics capabilities, and integrating risk into decision-making at every level. Partner with external stakeholders
such as regulators, auditors, reinsurers, and rating agencies to maintain transparency and trust. Who You Are
A forward-thinking leader with strong strategic and analytical capabilities. Experienced in risk oversight within
insurance, reinsurance, or financial services
organizations. Adept at balancing regulatory compliance, business strategy, and growth. Known for excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior executives and boards. What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or a related field ; Master’s/MBA preferred. 7+ years
in senior leadership roles within the insurance or financial sector. Proven experience implementing
ERM frameworks
across multi-line or global insurers. Strong understanding of
NAIC, Solvency II, ORSA , and
RBC
requirements. Expertise in
underwriting, reinsurance, investments, operational and cyber risk management . Solid background in
