Maintenance Technician - Part-Time

The Maintenance Generalist plays a key role in ensuring that all district facilities are safe, well-maintained, and supportive of student learning. This position performs a variety of hands-on maintenance tasks-ranging from replacing light bulbs and ceiling tiles to assisting with minor repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. The Maintenance Generalist helps keep classrooms and common areas operational so students and staff can focus on teaching and learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as: Replacing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and filters Repairing or adjusting doors, locks, and hardware Painting, patching, and other minor carpentry work Basic plumbing repairs (toilets, faucets, drains) Assisting HVAC staff with filter changes or minor adjustments
Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner, ensuring tasks are completed to district standards. Identify and report safety hazards; take immediate action when appropriate. Assist in seasonal tasks such as snow/ice removal, grounds upkeep, and event setups. Operate district vehicles, lifts, and maintenance equipment safely. Maintain accurate records of work performed. Follow all district safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and manufacturer instructions. Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with students, staff, vendors, and the public. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Prior general maintenance, construction, or facilities experience preferred. Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in a variety of environments (indoors/outdoors, hot/cold). Valid driver's license required. Core Competencies Safety-Minded:
