Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Clinical Development to spearhead our global efforts in developing ophthalmic genetic medicines. In this influential role, you will lead the charge in introducing the first intravitreally delivered genetic treatments aimed at reversing irreversible blindness. Your leadership will be vital in overseeing clinical studies, ensuring patient safety, maintaining data integrity, and enforcing adherence to protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Design, execute, and monitor clinical trials for ophthalmic gene therapies.
Prepare critical clinical documents for regulatory submissions.
Ensure the safety and well-being of trial participants.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive clinical development.
Represent the company in discussions with potential partners and stakeholders in the ophthalmic and biotech sectors.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
An M.D. degree with clinical training in ophthalmology.
A minimum of 10 years in the biopharma industry focused on drug development, particularly with Phase 3 experience in retinal diseases.
A proven history of leading and executing successful clinical trials.
Experience with global regulatory interactions and submissions (NDA, BLA, or MAA).
A solid understanding of the ophthalmic competitive landscape, especially related to retinal diseases.
