We are looking for a strategic and highly experienced Director of Data Governance Policy to spearhead the creation, development, implementation, and management of PepsiCo's data governance framework. This framework encompasses the policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines necessary for treating data as a strategic asset. In this role, you will collaborate closely with data stewards, legal teams, and program teams to design governance controls, integrate them into processes, and promote widespread adoption throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation Development: Serve as the primary author and steward of Data Governance documentation. Policy Creation: Craft, revise, and publish data-related policies in conjunction with legal teams to ensure compliance with regulations. Standard Definition: Set forth Data Standards, such as naming conventions and metadata standards, to guarantee consistency and interoperability across the organization. Procedure Documentation: Develop clear, step-by-step procedures and workflows detailing how policies and standards should be executed by data stewards and other relevant stakeholders. Framework Implementation: Establish and uphold the enterprise data governance policy framework, including guiding principles and compliance standards, while facilitating the Data Governance Council for stakeholder alignment. Communication and Engagement: Ensure that all stakeholders are aware of their roles and responsibilities. Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and legal teams to drive the adoption of policies across various business units. Create and deliver training programs to educate data owners, stewards, and consumers on governance policies and their roles in this framework. Manage change processes related to updates in policies and procedures, adapting to evolving business needs or regulatory changes. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance and refine the data governance framework. Benchmark against industry best practices to ensure the governance framework evolves with technological and regulatory changes. Seek automation and efficiency improvements to integrate policy compliance into data governance workflows. Ensure the policy framework adapts to the organization’s growth and digital transformation, including initiatives related to Responsible AI. Metrics and Reporting: Guarantee that governance policies and frameworks are auditable and compliant to mitigate legal and financial risks. Align all governance policies and procedures with external regulatory standards and internal legal mandates. Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and adoption of governance policies. Act as a subject matter expert during audits, demonstrating adherence to documented governance policies and procedures. Compensation & Benefits: The expected compensation range for this position is between $125,900 - $249,900. Compensation will be influenced by location, skills, experience, and education. Performance-based bonuses with a target payout of 25% of the annual salary, plus an additional target payout of 10% over three years. Long-term incentive equity awards may be offered based on eligibility and performance. Paid time off options include paid parental leave, vacation, sick days, and bereavement leave. 10+ years of experience in Data Governance. 6+ years demonstrating hands-on experience in creating and managing enterprise-wide data governance policies and procedures. Strong understanding of various data governance disciplines such as Data Policy Management and Data Stewardship. Proven ability in leading organizational change and engaging stakeholders effectively. Extensive knowledge of industry data governance frameworks and compliance requirements. Exceptional communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex matters to both technical and non-technical audiences. Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
