Position Overview Client is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and strategic Controller to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and development of internal control and risk management policies and procedures. A key qualification is extensive experience with NetSuite ERP, with the ability to optimize its use for financial visibility and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Prepare and present consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with bank reporting requirements. Create ad hoc reports to the Management Team as needed. Monitor and manage all aspects of financial performance including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow. Lead monthly financial reviews with key stakeholders, including forecasting and budgeting sessions. Manage and lead the annual budget preparation process. Manage expense controls and identify areas for cost savings. Accounting Operations Manage and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Ensure timely and accurate reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP. Own and continuously optimize all NetSuite ERP financial workflows, reporting tools, and integrations. Handle commission reporting and analysis, including negotiating commission structures and split arrangements. Oversee client credit checks and maintain financial health in client onboarding. Develop and implement process enhancements to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency. International Financial Transactions Must have experience with international business transactions, including ACH transfers, FX payments, and reconciliation.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Banking & Treasury Serve as the key contact for banking relationships and lending partners. Support cash management, funding strategies, and negotiations with financial institutions.
HR and Employee Support
Collaborate with HR on payroll processing, approvals, and employee benefits strategies and insurance renewals Participate in employee reviews, providing financial and operational input. Support hiring, onboarding, and staff development initiatives, especially in the Finance department.
Contract and Vendor Management
Provide strategic oversight in client and vendor contract management, including negotiations and compliance tracking. Take a leading role in dispute resolution, engaging clients and vendors constructively to protect company interests and mitigate risk.
Technology & Systems Leadership
Champion financial technology upgrades and improvements, especially as it relates to NetSuite and integration with other systems. Evaluate new systems and technology tools to enhance data integrity, workflow automation, and reporting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial leadership roles. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP; demonstrated ability to administer and optimize NetSuite modules. Working knowledge of SmartSheet Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial regulations. Experience with international business transactions, including ACH and FX. Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Experience working in an entrepreneurial or mid-sized business environment preferred.
