About the Role
A global organization is seeking a Director of SEC Reporting & Compliance to lead its external financial reporting and regulatory disclosure functions. This high-impact role will oversee SEC filings, statutory reporting, and ESG disclosures, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with evolving global standards.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial reporting, a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, and experience managing complex compliance projects. This position offers direct exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams across finance, legal, investor relations, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead preparation and filing of SEC reports (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) under US GAAP
Oversee IFRS-based reporting and statutory filings for global entities
Manage quarterly earnings reporting in collaboration with Investor Relations and FP&A
Draft financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A
Act as primary liaison with external auditors for SEC and financial disclosures
Lead financial reporting for bond offerings and capital market transactions
Partner with sustainability team on ESG reporting (GRI, ISSB, SASB, TCFD)
Monitor and interpret new global compliance regulations (SEC, CSRD, etc.)
Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Investor Relations, and Operations
Lead and mentor a team of reporting professionals
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)
CPA certification required
8+ years of progressive experience in corporate accounting and external reporting
Strong SEC reporting and compliance background
Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred
Experience with ESG reporting and capital markets a plus
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
