Position Description:
The Warehouse Manager provides leadership and oversight for all warehouse operations in direct support of the Department of the Navy. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant receipt, storage, handling, and distribution of Government Furnished Property (GFP) and other materials. The Warehouse Manager optimizes operational workflows, enforces compliance with Navy regulations and federal contracting standards, and leads personnel to achieve excellence in inventory accuracy, shipping/receiving processes, and overall logistics performance.
Serving as the primary point of contact for interpreting and implementing government policies and transportation or warehousing regulations, this role drives continuous improvement through effective use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Navy ERP, and best practices in supply chain operations. The Warehouse Manager (Senior) ensures all warehouse activities align with mission objectives, organizational goals, and regulatory standards to sustain seamless, mission-ready logistics support.
Responsibilities Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of government property and materials. Manage warehouse staff, including Supply Technicians and Maintenance Technicians, ensuring adherence to Navy and OSHA safety standards, performance objectives, and operational schedules. Maintain accountability of GFP and GFE through accurate documentation and system updates within Navy ERP and other warehouse management systems (WMS). Develop and implement SOPs for inventory control, material handling, and shipping operations in accordance with DoN regulations. Coordinate with Senior Logistician, Government stakeholders, and QA staff to ensure contract compliance. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, schedule, safety, and accuracy, generating reports and recommendations for continuous process improvement. Ensure risk management, safety, and training programs are maintained and up to date. Oversee shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes, including coordination with transportation partners and adherence to domestic and international shipping regulations.
Minimum Qualifications / Certifications Forklift and hazardous materials handling certification preferred. Knowledge of Navy logistics and warehouse systems (e.g., Navy ERP, GCSS-MC). Demonstrated leadership ability in managing warehouse operations teams Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field or equivalent experience. 10+ years of warehousing experience with at least (5) years in a supervisory or management role. Prior experience supporting Department of the Navy or DoD logistics operations.
