The Job Description:Position / Specialty: PICU RN Charge Start date: mid-Oct flexible Ratios: 1:3 Shift: 3x12s 19:00-07:30 nights Years of experience REQ: 2 years exp required CHARGE EXP REQUIRED - hard stop [will consider Peds Preceptor exp] level II trauma exp required First-timers accepted: Yes Weekend REQ: Yes - up to every weekend. Certs REQ: CO/Compact RN license ACLS BLS PALS Is on-call REQ? Yes - 1 mandatory on call per 4-week schedule - rarely happens. No floating - managing Peds PICU Locals accepted - w/n 75 miles BR is 5 less than listed BR 5 days or less RTO preferred - NO XMAS RTO BETWEEN 12/24-12/27 Charting: EPIC Info: Our unit ratio is acuity based so you can care for three patients. An example of a three patient assignment is respiratory patients such as HHF or a combination of 3 less acute patients. You will not care for 3 ventilated patients. New trauma patients are 1:1 when less critical will transition to 1:2. We are a combined Pediatric and PICU unit. We have 20 pediatric beds and 8 PICU beds and share a CN.
