NICU Registered Nurse Job Details

12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:30 am)

36 guaranteed

Estimated Weekly Salary:

$1880 - $2020 per week

May be required within 60 miles of original assignment

NICU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or a participating NLC state (required)

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required)

STABLE certification (preferred)

Minimum 1 year of NICU nursing experience preferred

Ability to float to other units or healthcare facilities as needed

NICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Assess and address the physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of neonatal patients and their families in the NICU

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team

Demonstrate clinical competency in IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection

Provide patient and family education, assess learning readiness, and evaluate teaching effectiveness

Advocate for patient safety, rights, and well-being in the NICU setting

Deliver compassionate, relationship-based care that respects patient preferences and values

Delegate tasks appropriately to non-RN personnel in accordance with hospital policy

Serve as a professional role model and mentor for new staff and nursing students

Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and nursing research activities

Maintain professional records and pursue ongoing learning and professional development opportunities
