Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all machinery, equipment, and facility systems. This includes performing routine and emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and building systems. The role is key to maintaining production uptime, safety, and food quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues to reduce downtime.
Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as inspections, lubrication, and adjustments.
Track maintenance activities and update logs, work orders, and reports.
Support safety, sanitation, and food safety programs (HACCP, SQF, QMS).
Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and facility standards.
Coordinate maintenance schedules with production to minimize disruption.
Assist with spare parts inventory, ordering, and proper tool storage.
Collaborate with supervisors and production teams to plan repairs and upgrades.
Train or assist team members in maintenance procedures and safety practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; technical or trade certifications .
2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
Familiarity with HACCP and food safety compliance standards.
Basic computer skills; CMMS experience is a plus.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
