JOB SUMMARY
The Controller is a key member of the Finance & Accounting leadership team. Contributes to all areas of the function with a sharp focus on Accounting/Closing, Consolidation and Audit.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage accounting operations.
Assist with global consolidations.
Support audits.
Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for site(s).
Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions.
Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.
Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
At least 10 years’ experience in a similar position.
Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Solid understanding of IFRS accounting principles.
Cost accounting experience
Experience supporting plant manufacturing operations in a global environment.
Demonstrated expertise in MS Office and SAP and/or Syteline financial software.
Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines.
May be asked to travel domestically to site-specific events.
Excellent communication skills, internally and with clients.
