Overview

Job Summary: Reports to: Pastor Status/Class: Regular Part-time (24 hours per week) Job Description The Parish Office Manager is a regular part-time position that works to assist and relieve the Pastor of the Parish from administrative details of Parish operations. Responsibilities Parish office daily operations Assist with parish office telephone, written, and email correspondence Manage parish, as well as requests for parishioner services including processing Mass intentions, answering parish requests, etc. Provide open communication with Pastor regarding operations Collaborate with school leadership and personnel on an as needed basis

Administrative Assistant to the Pastor

Prepare invoices, statements, and other documents for Pastor to review Send necessary documentation to the Diocese of Charleston for processing of the above and reconcile paid invoices to reports provided by the diocese

Financial Management and Oversight

Coordinate and oversee weekly and special collections count and staff involved, process checks and cash to the bank, and provide documentation to the diocese Review and retain financial documents per diocesan policy Balance bank statement monthly Review financial data on a quarterly basis with the Finance Council. Provide bank statements to other organizations within the parish, i.e. Mens Club, Catholic Women Serving Manage and process payroll for parish office personnel Assist the Facilities coordinator as needed regarding Master Plan projects and capital campaigns

Supply Management

Order supplies as needed for parish functions, office needs and religious education activities Process payment for the above

Qualifications

Required Abilities, Education, Experience

Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting Degree preferred, but not necessary Minimum of three years work experience in business or management is a plus A practicing Catholic in good standing and willing to function in a manner consistent with the mission of the Catholic Church

Other Qualifications

Possess excellent interpersonal communication, written skills, and supervisory skills Display a professional and friendly persona Ability to maintain confidentiality and a culture of trust Prioritize workflow, display flexibility, and use considerable independent judgment Convey knowledge of accounting principles and practices as it relates to the Diocese of Charleston Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Successful completion of all required personal background checks and legally mandated training

Compensation

Compensation will be paid on an hourly basis. Holidays designated by the Diocese or Parish will be paid holidays, per policy Vacation, sick, holiday, and other benefits will be available as per diocesan policy
