Our client has an exciting 6-month contract to hire opportunity for a highly motivated Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in structural steel, concrete, curtain wall, or metal framing who is eager to tackle new challenges.
What You'll Do:
Analyze and design structural components using advanced software like STAAD and RISA. Conduct load analysis and develop cost-saving design solutions through testing. Collaborate effectively with Project Managers, General Contractors, and Architects to resolve complex project issues. Review and mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional development. Ensure design accuracy by reviewing shop drawings and comparing them to contract documents. Partner with the in-house fabrication shop to address design challenges. Develop and oversee testing procedures for innovative design concepts.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor or Master of Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering. 4+ years of experience in structural steel, concrete, curtain wall, or metal framing projects. Proficiency in STAAD, RISA, or similar structural analysis software. Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
A Plus:
Working knowledge of relevant building codes (ASCE 7, AISC Steel Manual, Aluminum Design Manual, IBC) AutoCAD experience Experience with canopy systems.
