District: Springboro Community City Schools District - Operations Supervisor General Description: Under administrative direction, provides leadership in school district operations related to maintenance, facilities, grounds and custodians. Responsible for training, supervision and work distribution of the custodial, grounds and maintenance staff. Responsible for cleanliness and environmental quality of the district. Needs to be available and on call for emergency situations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Supervise/evaluate, monitor and staff custodial, maintenance, and grounds positions. This includes approving leave requests, payroll/time tracking, daily staffing needs, long term projections, short term assignments, staffing of overtime and extra (night/ weekend) event management. 2. Responsible for the supervision of specific programs/projects, inspection of buildings, equipment and the completion of work assignments as well as checking and verifying time records and maintains an awareness of potential problems. 3. Develop, implement, modify and monitor necessary cleaning procedures for all district buildings to ensure consistent cleaning regimens are maintained. This includes developing cleaning methods for allergens and other special instances that are present in school environments. Develop written documented methods to ensure accountability by district custodial staff. Work with outside experts when necessary to develop best practices. 4. Develop, implement and maintain district indoor/outdoor environmental quality program including, indoor air quality, integrated pest management, asbestos management plans and other regulatory requirements. 5. Organize, implement, and document necessary training seminars, classes or sessions for custodial and maintenance staff to ensure district staff is adhering to district cleaning standards as well as meeting the necessary regulatory requirements. 6. Routinely assess custodial, maintenance, and grounds staff performance including routine and intermediate performance reviews. Provides recommendations for improvement as well as documenting areas of excellence. 7. Monitor, document and maintain asset log for district custodial equipment. Provide recommendations for replacement or repairs based on detailed district wide equipment assessments and budget constraints. 8. Requests requisitions and maintains inventory of supplies and equipment; maintains records of usage manually or by using computer systems. 9. Work with custodial supply vendors to ensure consistent products are being supplied and purchased for district uses. Analyze, test, pilot and implement new cleaning supplies and procedures when warranted. 10. Develop, maintain, monitor, and modify safety program. Maintain database of worker training and compliance with all necessary workplace laws. 11. Ability to use a wide range of communication methods including but not limited to telephone, email, text, work order software, staff planning software, asset and equipment databases, google docs, sheets, etc. in order to routinely relay information in a timely manner. 12. Able to dissent and provide alternate opinions, options, and processes for the betterment of the department. 13. Assists in arranging and managing major construction/maintenance projects. 14. Report injuries and accidents immediately and complete necessary paperwork relating to the injury. 15. Work with facilities staff to coordinate snow removal operations including proper coverage and ensuring proper equipment is in place. 16. Train cleaning staff on best practices. 17. Respond to any emergency within the scope of ability. Notify the immediate supervisor of reasonable solutions and outcome to the incident. 18. Works with building administrators and staff to ensure high level of customer satisfaction is maintained. 19. Review district facilities to ensure building security measures are maintained and operational. 20. Other duties as assigned. 21. Supervisory Responsibilities will include: ? Periodically check on custodial, grounds, and maintenance staff. ? Assist with the direction of special event set-ups. ? Attend meetings as needed. Other Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Responds as necessary in emergency situations to building problems. 2. Promotes positive public relations related to district operations, tax issues, and other public information for the school district. 3. Serves as necessary and appropriate on community-based committees and boards. 4. Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree, preferred and/or relevant work experience. • Valid Ohio Administrative Certificate, preferred. • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in the management and operations of school district physical plant, buildings and grounds, budgeting and planning, preferred. • Experience working with unions or union environment. • Must possess valid Ohio driver's license. • Must pass criminal background check.
