Job Overview
The 3rd Shift Production/QA Supervisor will direct all manufacturing and quality operations to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations, safely, timely, and in a cost-effective manner. Interacting and maintaining employee morale while enforcing compliance with safety and manufacturing procedures and policies is paramount. Is responsible for supervising and scheduling daily activities for all QA Technicians and Production employees to support efficient flow of Bushing Manufacturing. Is also responsible for ensuring testing equipment is calibrated and kept in good working order. Assist with and perform all testing and internal process quality audits. Maintaining minimum downtime and maximum work area efficiency is essential in meeting annual corporate goals. This position will report to the Production Manager and training will take place on 1st and/or 2nd shift.

A Day In The Life
Plans, directs and manages all production and QA activities related to the manufacturing and testing process for assigned shift, to ensure production schedules are met or exceeded
Perform a wide variety of testing that ensures the efficient flow of Manufacturing and QA needs
Maintain equipment and test areas in a safe proper condition. Calibrate instruments. Supply test areas with proper and sufficient operating materials to perform daily tasks
Interact with various departments
Assist Engineering and Operations with R&D requirements that require special testing
Maintain the highest standard of quality while meeting production goals
Ensure that accurate labor reporting and production records are kept
Work with various teams to improve production, reduce costs and improve lead times
Work with HR in maintaining employee records, payroll and disciplinary issues when necessary
Maintain good housekeeping habits throughout all departments
Maintain inventory levels of various supplies for all departments
Ensure all employees are trained properly and accurate training records are maintained
Work closely with maintenance to ensure minimal equipment downtime
Ensure the safety of all manufacturing and QA employees, holding regular meetings and being involved in our facility safety program
Scheduling all jobs on the assigned shift and ensuring all tools and supplies are available, coordinating with other shift supervisors
Schedule direct reports hours to accommodate production needs
Schedule direct reports vacations and approve time reporting in e-time
Train and direct new and existing technicians in proper testing, inspection, and auditing techniques
Ensure compliance with the union contract while managing operations
Handle all grievances at the origination level
Work with Engineering and Maintenance in the installation of all new equipment and processes
Track daily production activity in each work area
May be required to occasionally work all or part of 2nd shift
All other duties assigned
What will help you thrive in this role?
Skills and Experience
1-3 years manufacturing experience in a “hands on” environment, required
Well-versed in manufacturing systems and tools, with a proven ability to drive efficiency and results
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
SAP experience is a plus
Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and drive results
Responsible for maintaining dependable leadership and ensuring operational accountability
Consistent attendance and dependable work habits are critical to success in this role
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to adapt to changing production demands while effectively managing competing priorities
Ability to perform basic reading, writing and mathematical functions
Ability to sit and/or stand and perform repetitive work for a minimum of eight hours
Ability to walk, hear, see, and have full use of both hands
Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist and waist to floor
Ability to lift 30 lbs. and carry a distance of 4 feet at a height of 4 feet
Ability to work off of a platform
Ability to walk up and down stairs and ramps
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and leadership
Experience with standard safety policies and procedures
Education
Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process. The salary range for this role is $61,900-$77,400 per year, plus applicable shift differential. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
