Ensure compliance with all applicable accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, serving as the College’s liaison to accrediting and professional bodies, including the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), the American Association of Osteopathic Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), the Western Accreditation Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Oversee faculty and staff performance and development, fostering a collaborative and high-performing academic community. Manage and monitor the College’s budget and resources to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with institutional goals. Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that support institutional effectiveness and continuous improvement. Academic and Curricular Oversight: Uphold the integrity, quality, and innovation of the COM curriculum in alignment with the College’s mission and accreditation standards. Lead the design, assessment, and continuous improvement of academic programs to ensure excellence in osteopathic medical education and student outcomes. Support faculty enrichment and professional development initiatives to strengthen teaching effectiveness and scholarly activity. Collect and report academic performance data and outcomes to inform strategic planning and accreditation processes. Institutional Advancement and External Relations: Represent and promote the College at local, state, and national levels to enhance its visibility and reputation within the osteopathic and broader medical education communities. Develop and sustain partnerships with healthcare systems, community organizations, and other academic institutions to expand educational and clinical opportunities. Collaborate with University leadership on advancement, communications, and government relations activities related to the COM. Contribute to institutional committees, strategic initiatives, and accreditation documentation to support the overall mission and success of Touro University Nevada. Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to advance the mission and goals of the College of Osteopathic Medicine. Qualifications Education: Earned Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from a COCA-accredited College of Osteopathic Medicine. Unrestricted medical license (current or previously held) with no history of disciplinary action or sanction. Board certification by an AOA or ABMS specialty board. Experience: Minimum of five years of academic leadership experience within the past ten years, including budgetary and administrative responsibility. Demonstrated service in osteopathic medical education at the level of Assistant Dean, Associate Dean, Dean, or equivalent leadership position. Academic rank of Associate Professor or higher, with a record of effectiveness in teaching, curriculum design, assessment, and scholarly activity. Proven ability to develop and sustain collaborative partnerships with hospitals, community organizations, and other educational institutions. Evidence of scholarly contributions, including peer-reviewed publications. Skills and Abilities: Exceptional organizational, management, and communication skills. Effective consensus-building and conflict-resolution abilities, with a leadership style that fosters collaboration and respect. Strong presentation, interpersonal, and public-speaking skills. Demonstrated ability to work diplomatically and effectively with internal and external constituents. Demonstrated capacity to lead diverse teams, manage multiple priorities, and maintain composure and integrity in complex situations.
