Opportunity Stanislaus is assisting GoldRiver Orchards in recruiting a Maintenance Mechanic.
Job Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment and machinery used in the walnut processing facility. This role ensures minimal downtime, promotes safety, and supports production efficiency through proactive and reactive maintenance practices.
Duties
Maintain and repair all production equipment: including, but not limited to, pumps, electric motors, gear boxes, conveyor systems, forklift & light heavy equipment repair, electrical trouble shooting, packaging machines, etc.
Troubleshoot, adjust and repair production and facilities equipment including disassembly and reassembly as needed.
Clean and lubricate machine parts, such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings using rags, brushes, grease gun, and oil can.
Weld, fabricate, or modify parts and components as needed.
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on processing equipment, including conveyors, cyclones, processing tables, shakers, and packing machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner.
Ensure equipment is compliant with safety and operational standards.
Complete work orders and document repairs and maintenance activities accurately.
Coordinate with the production team to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to operations.
Follow all company policies, safety rules, and regulatory guidelines (OSHA, food safety, etc.).
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or plant upgrades.
Experience
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training .
3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in food processing or agricultural facilities.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
Working knowledge of electrical systems (motors, sensors, wiring), hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other maintenance tools/equipment safely.
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and in varying temperature conditions.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, or overtime during peak season.
