Description
The Corporate Director Talent & Employee Experience role is part of the Emory Healthcare's System COE Talent, Learning & Culture team.
The role reports to the Vice President Talent, Learning & Culture and leads a small team of experts who design enterprise-wide processes, practices and initiatives advancing the Emory Healthcare HR Strategy.
The scope includes supporting our hospitals, clinics and corporate functions.
Employee Experience:
The role leads the employee listening strategy and the processes developed to effectively execute the Emory Healthcare employee survey campaigns, results cascade and action planning in response to the employee feedback from surveys
In addition, the role owns the employee onboarding surveys, exit surveys and any strategic ad-hoc listening strategy initiatives
Talent Management:
The Corporate Director Talent & Employee Experience owns the Emory Healthcare talent development programs, leads the annual Talent Review process, closely partners with the Emory Healthcare learning team on tools, assessments and content incorporated into our leadership development programs
In addition, the role supports the system-wide Talent Management Practice Area by managing effective processes for growing talent at different career levels, supporting HR Business Partners and business leaders with talent development capability building sessions and running structured programs designed for specific areas including early career programs (i.e. Administrative Fellowship Program) and Workforce Development Programs with specific focus on internally growing clinical talent
The role also provides expert guidance to operating units for their unique talent management initiatives and creates a platform for sharing and scaling up best practices across the enterprise
Focus Areas of Highest Impact:
Employee Listening Strategy
Provide strategic guidance and support to the Program Director Employee Experience on the semi-annual employee survey, effectively leverage the results data to tell the story of progress and opportunities for strategic impact when cascading system-level results
Support the exist survey process, representation and action planning based on the exit feedback departing employees share. Bring visibility to it and support action plans
Design an effective 30- 60- 90 day onboarding surveys strategy to enhance new hires experience and reduce 1st year turnover
Provide guidance and expertise on innovative and real-time pulse checks and listening strategies to create an agile and effective ways to identify opportunities in employee experience and act on them in partnership with HR Business Partners and people leaders
Talent Strategy Execution- System-wide Tools and Processes
Support the design and lead the implementation - including change management, training, and communications - of key processes such as talent reviews, succession planning, and talent development programs
Bring innovation, creative thinking, and a solid understanding of current and evolving best practices, to help shape the Emory Healthcare strategic talent initiatives
Partner with our HR Analytics team to ensure access to critical data points and analysis for key stakeholders and leaders
Synthesize outcomes from Talent Processes to provide inputs into our Learning & Development programs, specific learning objectives and development priorities for the programs we offer
Act as a subject matter expert, consulting internal stakeholders on talent strategy solutions and best practices, support leadership retreat sessions as a SME speaker and provide guidance to HR Business Partners on system-wide initiatives and unique talent management needs
Align with stakeholders on high potential talent's individual development plans (IDPs) to ensure execution of key talent decisions
Annually update the Emory Healthcare critical positions list based on stakeholders' inputs and analysis of current and future strategic business requirements
Select and deploy effective tools, process and governance to ensure overall effectiveness and impact of Annual Talent Review
Communicate and influence partners throughout the system for support on talent related work
Internal Mobility Programs
Develop programs based on people strategy priorities to support internal mobility and career pathways
Work with Emory Healthcare compensation team to build skill-based progression for impact on retention and enhanced capability/ skill levels in targeted functions/ priority areas
Act as a subject matter expert, consulting internal stakeholders on talent strategy solutions and recommend effective approach for upskilling into critical roles
Act as internal faculty on Talent Management and Career Mobility topics
Recommend appropriate technology solutions to scale up internal mobility and partner with Talent Acquisition team to ensure a positive employee experience related to internal candidates experience
Talent Management Tools
Develop and implement a consistent competency framework for leadership as a foundation of guiding principles for learning and development programs, talent selection, identifying and growing internal talent
Identify and implement a consistent set of assessments for identifying and developing talent
Create and deploy a consistent mechanism/tool for potential assessments (PAs) to ensure consistency and calibrated approach for Annual Talent Review
Strategically plan regular 360 waves system-wide, including providing effective communication and tools for all stakeholders to ensure optimization of participant's experience
Support coaching for senior-level assessment participants, including styles and personality assessments, potential assessments, Hogan and 360's
Ensure nominated successors' IDPs are current, strategically designed, and executed with tracking of development progress
Closely partner with Corporate Director, Executive Development and Business Programs and Corporate Director Learning and Development to deliver all talent topics as part of current and new Emory Leadership Programs, including assessments used and coaching debriefs for participants
Build capability in HRBP, talent managers, and people managers to effectively support all talent management processes; provide internal certification (train-the-trainer) for HR partners to upskill and bring to life the HRBP model
Additional Duties as Assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or related field
Five years of related experience designing and delivering innovative talent solutions at scale
Prior experience leading Talent and Employee Experience COE teams at medium or large organizations
Certification: Hogan certification or ability to complete within 6 months required
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:
Extensive experience and expert-level depth in talent management including experience working with executive level talent in the full-cycle Talent Management process- Talent Selection, Talent Identification, Coaching and Development
Ability to design talent processes and programs at a system-wide scale and complexity
Strong communication skills, ability to effectively present talent analytics and qualitative insights concisely to senior leadership
Strong business acumen and ability to translate business challenges into talent implications/ requirements
Innovative thinking and proven ability to stay current with innovative talent practices and tools to continuously enrich and enhance Emory Healthcare talent management practices
Tolerance for ambiguity
Strong project management skills, detail-oriented
Customer centricity focus and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external partners
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or related field; or MBA preferred
