About UMOM New Day Centers : Founded in 1964, UMOM is Arizona's largest provider of services for families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to restore hope, rebuild lives, and end homelessness. With an annual operating budget of $22 million dollars, UMOM provides shelter, supportive services, and housing programs to families and single women experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. UMOM serves over 15,000 unique individuals across all our services annually, including families receiving support at the Family Housing Hub.
Position Description:
The Individual Giving Coordinator is a full-time member of our Philanthropy Team responsible for increasing private revenue dollars donated to the organization. This individual will be responsible for building the donor pipeline, cultivating long-term relationships and retaining donors at the mid-level range ($500-$5,000), monthly donors, and faith-based givers through consistent identification, exceptional engagement, timely solicitation and relevant stewardship. This position will oversee the stewardship activities of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages a donor portfolio, increasing the number of new donors and retaining existing donors at the mid-level gift range ($500-$5,000).
Oversees all research on individual prospects and donors, prepares donor profiles and briefing materials for donor calls and visits, and manages all correspondence with, and reporting to, prospects and mid-level donors.
Stewards and grows a portfolio of Charitable Tax Credit Donors.
Manages a portfolio of faith-based donors.
Develops and implements results driven gift giving strategy to secure mid-level gifts from individuals.
Engages all categories of donors through in-person, oral and written communications.
Cultivates relationships and provide exemplary customer service to current donors, with the goal of increasing gift donations.
Maintains donor activity in donor database.
Supervises and supports the donor relations and outreach coordinator.
Actively participates in the community and be an ambassador for the organization.
Supports fundraising events, especially through leading the donor development of attendees.
Develops comprehensive working knowledge of all UMOM programs and industry trends.
Meets and/or exceeds annual fundraising goals.
Builds strong working relationships within the organization.
Other duties as assigned by Leadership and/or executives.
Qualifications and Competency Requirements:
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED, required
Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferred
Minimum five years of professional experience in consultative non-profit fundraising with a focus on customer service.
Demonstrated experience building relationships with individuals and effectively soliciting and closing mid- level gifts.
Outstanding oral, written and presentation skills
Computer Skills
Proficiency with applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
Previous experience with donor management CRM preferred
Compliance
Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one
Ability to clear the Central Registry Screening from the Department of Child Safety & Adult Protective Services.
Ability to comply with and pass all required background check and drug screening requirements, including but not limited to pre-employment and random drug screening as required/requested.
Valid AZ Driver's License and a driving record that falls within UMOM's policy
50/100 level of car insurance coverage (mileage reimbursement available)

This position is typically performed in an interior, environmentally controlled office setting. The duties of the job require extended periods of time being stationary and manipulating a computer (keyboard, monitor, mouse), and other standard office equipment including, but not limited to printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
