Production Planning Manager

to join our team and take ownership of planning activities using SAP systems to ensure material availability and production efficiency.

The

Production Planning Manager

is responsible for end-to-end planning processes, including material requirements planning (MRP), production planning (PP), repair order execution (PM) for both production and engineering, and demand forecasting within the SAP environment. This role collaborates cross-functionally with Procurement, Production, Engineering, Logistics, and Materials Management to ensure demand and supply plans are aligned and executed effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage and optimize planning processes using SAP S/4HANA modules (PP/PM/MM).

Manage/mentor planners and expediters.

Execute and monitor MRP runs to generate supply and production proposals.

Execute and monitor PP and PM work orders, review, and adjust production and procurement plans based on demand forecasts and capacity constraints.

Collaborate with procurement and production teams to resolve material shortages or excesses.

Run and analyze planning reports/KPIs such as forecast accuracy and service levels.

Ensure Planning master data (BOMs, work centers, routings, planning parameters) is maintained in the product version.

Create and update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

Lead or support SAP-related planning projects, upgrades, or enhancements.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of planning experience using SAP (preferably SAP PP, PM, MM)

Strong understanding of MRP, capacity planning, and production scheduling.

Experience in manufacturing, repair, engineering, or a high-volume environment.

Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments.

Preferred Skills:

SAP S/4HANA experience strongly preferred.

Power BI, Spreadsheets,

Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.

APICS/CPIM or similar supply chain certification.

Experience with other advanced planning tools.

Advanced MS Office skills, knowledge of VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, macro recordings, data tables, charting, data sorting, segregation and formula auditing.

Ability to respond to detailed inquiries and present information to groups and senior management.

Professional knowledge of business disciplines, production planning, and supply chain.

Highly data-based: critical thinker; proven data aptitude and attention to detail.

Location, Physical Requirements, and PPE:

Manufacturing:

Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see , write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 25 lbs. and under, perceive depth, and operate motor equipment.

Conditions include working inside. Working around moving objects, machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Work with heated soldering iron and flux. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended or irregular hours. Working environment may include but not limited to, intermittent noise, fumes, smoke, grease, dust, oils and solvents.

Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, hand tools, power tools, air tools, microscope and telephone. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
