Summary:
The Instructional Technology Coach is responsible for working directly with teachers to provide professional learning experiences that support the effective integration of technology.
Qualifications: Hold valid Virginia teaching license and have successfully completed a minimum of three years full-time teaching in a K-12 school setting. Demonstrates effective use and integration of educational technology. Demonstrates effective oral, written, and digital media communication skills. Demonstrates interpersonal skills for working effectively with teachers, administrators, staff and students. Demonstrates an understanding of the peer coaching relationship and the role of instructional leadership. Performance and Responsibilities:
Collaboratively plan with teachers to conduct lessons that model and promote the effective integration of current instructional technology and digital citizenship. Assist teachers in using technology effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant and engaging learning experiences for all students. Collaborate with instructional leadership to assess the professional learning needs of staff based on identified instructional technology goals. Collaborate with instructional leadership to develop, deliver and evaluate instructional technology professional learning events to individual, small groups, or large groups of staff during the school day and/or beyond regular school hours. Communicate regularly with the Supervisor of Instructional Technology and Innovation and appropriate personnel to identify needs, address concerns, and reflect on activities related to individual, school and district progress. Collaborate with school-based and central office personnel in planning strategies to meet school and program goals. Facilitate the collaborative evaluation of software and applications with other staff to determine appropriate curriculum relevance and make recommendations regarding implementation. Assist teachers in learning hardware and software applications used in an instructional setting. Attend scheduled Instructional Technology Coach and other relevant meetings in order to share information, express concerns and contribute to the work toward goals outlined in the district's comprehensive and educational technology plans. Assist the technical services staff in identifying technology issues and submit requests for assistance using established Help Desk protocols. Engage in continual goal setting and professional growth activities that include but are not limited to regular and active participation in a technology focused learning network that supports knowledge, skills and dispositions in content, pedagogical and technological knowledge and skills.
Pay Rate:
Teacher Salary Scale (credit is based on years of full-time experience in a related position)
Contract: Full time / 10 months / 202 days
