Reporting to the Director of Finance, theControlleris responsible for the supervision of the general accounting functions for the finance department. The Controller plans, coordinates and manages day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and month end closing.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, other duties as assigned
Provides day-to-day supervision of accounting and finance functions for the division, including but not limited to the following:
Oversee and participates in the closing of the monthly financial statements and ensure they are compliant with US GAAP
Daily, monthly and annual management reporting
Development of ad hoc reporting as required by management and/or corporate
Prepare regular cash flow and operating forecasts throughout the year
Perform variance analysis of results compared to budget, prior year, and regular forecasts on summary and/or detailed level
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit & collections
Ensure compliance with applicable sales and use taxes as well as assist in preparation of annual income tax packages
Delegates appropriate responsibilities and authority to area team members
Plans, assigns, and evaluates job tasks
Prepares, reviews and maintains all accounting functions
Assist with preparation of annual operating and capital budget with management input
Effective business partner across functional areas to drive business results
Supervision of payroll
Maintain integrity of accounting systems including the administration and maintenance of all accounting systems and processes
Maintain confidentiality pertaining to all aspects of team member and company matters
Ability to solve problems and make sound recommendations pertaining to organization effectiveness
Observes safety and security procedures; Uses equipment and materials properly; Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business-related field
5+ years of experience in accounting. Manufacturing or Cost Accounting experience preferred
Experience in a supervisory accounting role
ERP system experience or a willingness & capability to learn new computer software programs
Knowledge of production and manufacturing processes
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite-especially Excel (Advanced spreadsheets, pivot tables, macros, etc.)
Strong analytical, administrative, and organizational skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear for up to an eight-hour shift.
The incumbent must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
