Journeyman Diesel Mechanic - Outside Machinist , ideally seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of diesel experience. As a comprehensive electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor, PCE has developed extensive expertise in executing major system overhauls for various classes of ships around the globe. Job Summary As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting major and specialized mechanical overhauls and repairs on diesel marine engines and associated marine equipment and systems, all while adhering to work specifications and technical manuals. Duties and Responsibilities Keep thorough records of maintenance and repair work completed. Maintain communication with management regarding job progress and updates. Engage with customers to explain repair needs and provide solutions. Offer guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics and apprentices. Order parts and manage inventory necessary for repairs. Perform additional related tasks as assigned, as they may become essential to the role. Position Requirements and Experience Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Preferred candidates will have at least 5 years of marine and/or shipyard experience. Proficient use of measuring devices (rulers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth mics, scales, etc.), hand tools, and power tools.
