ARRT Certified MRI Technologist - Part Time

Job Summary:
Deliver exceptional healthcare services by performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and related procedures to produce detailed sectional anatomic images. This role requires technical expertise and compassionate patient care in a supportive clinical environment located in the Midwest region of the United States.
Essential Responsibilities: Conduct MRI procedures, ensuring patient clinical history aligns with the imaging protocol and documenting all relevant information for licensed practitioners. Prepare patients by providing clear instructions to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety. Operate MRI equipment and accessories, selecting appropriate scanning parameters and protocols as directed by radiologists. Position and immobilize patients comfortably to best capture the anatomical area of interest. Apply magnet safety principles to protect patients, staff, and self from hazards. Assist licensed physicians during procedures and verify all documentation. Address both physical and psychological patient needs throughout the imaging process. Perform venipunctures and administer contrast media as prescribed, maintaining equipment and safety standards. Evaluate image quality, adjust display parameters, and produce properly identified hard copy records. Initiate basic life support when necessary and perform diagnostic radiographic procedures as needed. Educate patients and their families about tests and procedures in a compassionate manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, report equipment malfunctions, and contribute to supply management decisions. Provide practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals, and participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives. Stay current with sterile techniques and anatomical knowledge relevant to MRI procedures. Record patient histories and relevant data accurately in electronic systems. Manage imaging media release requests in compliance with authorization protocols. Participate in on-call duties as required to support technical needs outside regular hours. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Proven experience as a radiographer with knowledge sufficient to perform MRI procedures and maintain ongoing education in cross-sectional anatomy. Computer proficiency is necessary. Licensure and Certifications:
Must hold state certification as a radiologic technologist. Current ARRT certification as R.T.(R) in good standing. ARRT MRI certification (R.T.(MR)) required at hire or obtained within two years of employment.
Work Schedule:
Part-time day shifts, approximately 24 hours per week, with potential on-call responsibilities.
