West Fraser is seeking a motivated Industrial Millwright to join our team at the Angelina, TX sawmill! This role is crucial in our company-wide commitment to continuous improvement, utilizing advanced troubleshooting, predictive, and preventative maintenance strategies. As an integral member of our high-performing team, your focus will be on safely operating and maintaining all machinery within the mill.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform repairs and maintenance on industrial equipment, including conveying systems and major machinery like debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
Read and interpret drawings and printed instructions effectively.
Work independently and safely in high-pressure environments.
Understand the alignment of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
Utilize hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks to move machinery and equipment.
Adjust nuts and bolts, or position parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to ensure proper clearances.
Align machines and equipment with instruments like hoists, jacks, and plumb tools.
Assemble and install equipment using various hand and power tools.
Layout and drill mounting holes accurately.
Replace or adjust defective machine parts to maintain equipment functionality.
Level bedplates and establish centerlines with precision tools.
Dismantle machines using hand tools and assist in the assembly of moving parts.
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of Millwright experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Proficient in cutting torch operation (Oxygen/Acetylene) and welding (GMAW and SMAW).
Commitment to safety and compliance with safety regulations.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and participate in on-call support for 24/7 operations.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check is mandatory.
