Environmental Technician
to join our team at the
Ford Flat Rock Assembly Plant
located in
Flat Rock
, MI . This individual will be responsible for handling solid and hazardous waste at the plant.
Shift Details:
Shift:
1st Schedule:
7:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m., Monday- Friday with OT Possibilities.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
Collect trash, recyclables, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal. Load semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center, and any other disposal streams. Perform and document daily equipment inspection prior to use. Assist supervisor with response to chemical spill incidents by placing adsorbents on liquids, sweeping or vacuuming solids and containerizing cleaned up materials for proper disposal. Assist Project Manager with daily supply delivery, waste pick up and waste organization. Document and inform Resource Manager of any contamination in plant's recycling and waste containers. Maintain necessary documentation of waste inventories, inspections and other activities as required. Operate fork truck to load/unload trucks. Operate Burden carriers. Follow all plant- related safety guidelines. Sort and bale recyclable material. Requirements and Qualifications:
High School Diploma. One-year experience in waste management. Must be able to work in outside conditions. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be able to pass a drug test. Preferred Qualifications:
40-hour HAZWOPER. RCRA/DOT training. Hilo truck experience.
