The Movable Bridge Business Unit of Modjeski and Masters is seeking MechanicalEngineering students interested in an
internship opportunity.
This internship opportunity can be completed in the following office locations,Mechanicsburg, PA, Philadelphia, PA, Raleigh, NC What we are looking for: Working towards a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university Ability to show effective technical writing and presentation skills
What you'll do: As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you'll have the opportunity to apply what you've learned in the classroom to real-world bridge design projects. Working under the mentorship of experienced engineers, you'll gain valuable insight into the specialized field of Movable Bridge design while developing both your technical and professional skills. As an Intern you will: Assist in reviewing and verifying standard mechanical design calculations, learning how engineering theory is applied in practice. Support senior engineers in the analysis, design, and selection of mechanical components used in movable bridge systems. Gain exposure to engineering software tools, including general analysis programs, manufacturer-specific software, and in-house design tools. Participate in the development of preliminary layouts and system details using CAD software; experience with AutoCAD or 3D modeling tools like Autodesk Inventor is a plus. Learn how design information is communicated to CAD Technicians and translated into construction documents. Observe and assist with field and construction-related activities to understand how mechanical systems are implemented in real projects. Perform other project-related tasks as assigned, contributing to a variety of engineering and design efforts.
