Our client is a wholesaler and distributor of specialty building products based in Kent. With 50 years in business, this owner-run company is a tight-knit family of employees who specialize in their field and work together to support the goals of the company. The Controller will report to the Owner/CEO of the company and will provide all financial and accounting oversight of the company.

Responsibilities:

Process payroll for ~50 employees. Process all accounts payable and expense reports. Process B&O, property and sales taxes for both locations, property and sales taxes. Manage full monthly close and financial reporting process, reporting to Owner monthly and the bank quarterly. Work closely with Inventory Control Manager on receiving and inventory valuation, and Corporate Credit Manager on all invoicing and cash receipts. Manage and maintain both the inventory control and accounting systems. Act as main point of contact with CPA firm on both tax and financial statement review engagements. Work cross functionally with peers to improve business functions and operations with the goal of increasing revenue and profitability, decreasing costs and improving efficiency. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or a certificate in accounting. At least 10 years of progressive corporate GL accounting experience. At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing monthly financial statement close and financial reporting. Ideally, exposure to an inventory-based or distribution/wholesale business environment.

Compensation:

base salary of up to a maximum of $150k. Also offering 401k plan with match, discretionary bonus, time off and corporate medical plan.
