Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment. This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire). Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions. Qualifications

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to common tasks including unloading palleted goods into storage spaces; documenting quantities, shortages, and/or overages of received items; I am skilled in considering size, shape, quantity, and/or perishability of stored items. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. Dexterity and Safety Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) PHYSICAL EFFORT : Incumbent performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require him to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Maybe required to work at a rapid place for long periods of time. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing 25-50 pounds or heavier items with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS : Work is performed inside warehouses, bin rooms, open storage areas, receiving and shipping areas, which may be cold, drafty, damp, or hot.
