CompX Grayslake is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices, systems for world class original equipment manufacturers and manufacture of precision instruments, throttles, marine products, and accessories.
Position Responsibilities:
Reading mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic and electrical prints.
Use of micrometers and calipers for accurate measurements.
Fundamentals of AC and DC electrical circuits.
Electrical panel building.
Ability to identify the manufacturer and model number of a specific component and be resourceful enough to obtain necessary documentation.
Understanding of pneumatic systems in automated equipment (how does a solenoid valve control a cylinder and how does the PLC control the solenoid valve).
Experience with automated assembly equipment should include working with PLC’s, servo motion, vision systems, and pneumatic, electric and hydraulic actuators.
Knowledge of building electrical, single and 3-phase.
Ability to use and work on lifts and platforms.
Mechanical background/skilled with hand and power tool operations.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
High School Diploma, Some College and/or Certification
Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs.
Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours.
Ability to use hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools.
