The 150 Civil Engineering Flight (150 CEF) provides maintenance and construction support for the NM Air National Guard. The 150 CEF is customer-based organization supporting all units with small to large scale requirements related to federal real property. The 150 CEF provides all HVAC, electrical, structural, janitorial, grounds, environmental and construction to support the ongoing Intel Squadron, RED HORSE squadron, 150 Mission Support Group, 150 Medical Training Group and HC-130J flying missions.

Why does the job exist?

This is the senior level of the Maintenance technician classification series. Performs the most advanced maintenance and repair duties, while exercising a high-level independence and judgment.

How does it get done?

This position will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the New Mexico Air National Guard Complex. employees in this role perform a multitude of advanced tasks related to maintenance and repair. Performs complex maintenance tasks related to construction and carpentry, including, but not limited to masonry, painting, sand blasting, fencing and concrete installation. Constructing, assembling, and repairing structures. Repairs and maintenance to buildings HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems. Repairing/remodeling offices and buildings by repairing roofs, replacing floors, stairs and doors. Landscaping and grounds keeping. Inspecting buildings to make sure they are in good repair and are in compliance with building codes. Maintain, repair, and operate heavy equipment to perform various maintenance tasks. May perform other duties as assigned.

The New Mexico Air National Guard staff, Department of Military Affairs (DMA) State employees, and the citizens of New Mexico.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position has experience in: General buildings and grounds maintenance Custodial duties Construction Plumbing Electrical or appliance repair

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma or Equivalent and one (1) year of experience in general buildings and grounds maintenance, custodial duties, construction, or appliance repair. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.

Employment Requirements

Employment is subject to background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License with no limitations or restrictions. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in both an indoor and outdoor setting and requires the use of various hand and power tools, as well as operating vehicles and equipment. Some administrative work is also conducted in an office setting. One may be required to work in adverse weather conditions such as extreme cold or heat for extended periods of time. Bending, standing, and lifting up to 25 pounds is required.
