Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Serving as a frontline member of the front-of-house team, the Floor Manager works to ensure positive patron and guest experiences at performances and rental events held at New World Center by serving as an organizational ambassador and providing exceptional customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist Director of Guest Services and/or House Manager in the execution of activities needed to provide a positive and safe experience for patrons and guests at New World Symphony performances and New World Center rental events. This will include, but is not limited to:
Assist in the preparation of briefings and sign-in sheets for event volunteers
Prepare scanners for ticket takers
Provide direction for volunteers
Communicate concert and event information to patrons and guests and answer questions
Assist Director of Guest Services and/or House Manager in resolving any patron and guest issues or complaints
Assist Director of Guest Services and/or House Manager with any ADA requests or issues
Take the lead for performances/events as assigned
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications: Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Previous customer service experience at a performing arts or events venue preferred
Previous event management experience preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent decision making and conflict resolution skills
Ability to remain calm and maintain composure during challenging situations
Ability to interact positively and sensitively with a wide variety of people in various settings
A collaborative and team-focused work style
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish is desired
Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations preferred
Passion for the mission of the New World Symphony

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25lbs
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
