Production Equipment Maintenance Technician
Pay Rate:
$32 to $36/hr DOE
Location:
Conroe, TX 77303
Schedule:
12 hours shift (6 to 6:30), rotates between day shift & night shift every 30 days
($1/hr differential for night shift)
Overview We are seeking a skilled Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our production facility. This role is essential for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of industrial equipment, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and familiarity with industrial maintenance practices. Responsibilities Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safety standards are met. Troubleshoot and repair complex machinery utilizing schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills. Operate diagnostic tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other precision measuring instruments to identify electrical or mechanical faults. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Work with hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, low voltage, high voltage, and other industrial systems requiring specialized knowledge. Conduct repairs involving welding, mechanical components, and electrical systems. Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing machinery. Follow safety protocols including working with high voltage systems and operating equipment such as scissor lifts. Collaborate with field service teams and participate in troubleshooting customer-reported issues when necessary. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs and maintenance. Experience
Proven experience in industrial mechanic work within a production or industrial setting. Strong background in electrical experience, including industrial electrician work involving low voltage and high voltage systems. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and control systems. Experience with hydraulic systems, HVAC/R maintenance, welding, and precision measuring instruments. Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking is preferred. Ability to analyze complex mechanical or electrical issues quickly and effectively. Prior paper production equipment maintenance experience is advantageous. Military background or experience in related technical fields is a plus. Excellent customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external clients. Strong analysis skills to diagnose issues accurately under pressure. This position requires a dedicated professional with a comprehensive understanding of industrial maintenance practices who can contribute to the continuous operation of our manufacturing processes while adhering to safety standards and quality expectations.
