Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a
Quality Manager
in partnership with a prominent client in the Binghamton area within the Aerospace Manufacturing field. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance, audit management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Quality Manager Summary: Shift: 1 st Pay: $75K - 85K
Quality Manager Job Responsibilities: Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 requirements. Plan and coordinate internal audits and host external audits. Supervise the inspection and testing processes for raw materials, in-process components, and completed assemblies. Utilize quality data and metrics to identify patterns, drive root cause investigations, and lead the implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve non-conformances and strengthen process reliability. Coach and mentor quality personnel and production staff in quality principles, standards, and best practices. Manage document control, calibration systems, and configuration management protocols. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and ensure regulatory compliance with agencies including
DOD ,
FAA , or other applicable authorities. Champion continuous improvement initiatives using tools like Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, and 8D problem-solving techniques. Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with internal policies and applicable safety and regulatory standards.
Quality Manager Qualifications:
High School Diploma/ Equivalent. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 5 years of quality leadership experience in the aerospace or defense manufacturing sector. Deep understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, and general aerospace industry quality expectations. Experience overseeing or supporting Department of Defense (DOD) compliance initiatives. Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis, CAPA processes, and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills. Certification such as CQE, CQM/OE, or equivalent is preferred. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. Hands-on experience managing non-conformance reports (NCRs) and conducting structured risk assessments. Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) processes. Experience working in an environment involving aerospace cable assembly manufacturing or similar technical products.
