Overview **
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable
Bookkeeper
to join our personal injury law firm. The ideal candidate will have experience managing trust accounts, client cost accounting, and reconciliations in a legal environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the firm’s operations, and ensuring compliance with all accounting and trust-fund regulations.

Key Responsibilities **
**
Financial Management **
Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including client settlements, disbursements, and operating expenses.
Manage and reconcile firm operating and trust (IOLTA) accounts in compliance with State Bar requirements.
Track client costs, case advances, and reimbursements.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports (profit/loss, balance sheets, case cost reports, etc.).
Process vendor invoices, firm expenses, and employee reimbursements.
Coordinate with case managers and attorneys regarding settlement disbursements and lien payments.

Payroll & Tax Support **
Prepare and process biweekly payroll (or coordinate with payroll provider).
Maintain payroll and benefits records, ensuring accurate deductions.
Support CPA in preparing quarterly and annual tax filings.
**
Reporting & Auditing **
Reconcile accounts monthly and prepare reports for firm leadership.
Assist with audits, trust account reviews, and annual financial statements.
Maintain organized digital and paper records of all financial data.
**
Administrative & Cross-Departmental Support **
Work closely with intake, case management, and settlement teams to track expenses per case.
Support management with budgeting and cash-flow planning.
Implement and improve bookkeeping systems and procedures.

Qualifications **
**
3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience **, preferably in a
law firm or professional services setting
.
Strong understanding of
trust accounting (IOLTA)
and client fund management.
Proficiency in
QuickBooks (Online)
and Microsoft Excel; experience with Filevine is a plus.
Working knowledge of
GAAP
and
legal accounting compliance
.
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
