Full-Time, 257 days, 40 Hours Per Week, FLSA Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of two years of industry experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, Computer/Network Technician, or equivalent Degree in Computer Science or related or relevant industry certifications from Comptia, VMWare, Microsoft, and/or Cisco; Bachelor's Degree preferred Proficient in the operation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware Proficient in deployment and use of industry standard software Proficient in the Windows, Linux, OSX, and ChromeOS Operating systems and their current file systems Proficient in the use, management, maintenance, and deployment of VMWare and/or HyperV hypervisors Proficient in the use and management of IP Telephony Systems Proficient with Storage Area Networks and data backup and recovery Proficient with scripting and the automation of routine data administration tasks such as backups, user account creation, storage, etc. Proficient with the configuration of layer 2 and layer 3 network switching Administrative leadership skills Organizational and communication skills Meets all mandated health requirements Valid Driver's License Must pass criminal background check GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Director of Technology is responsible for providing leadership, direction and coordination of the District's communication and education technology systems. The Director plans, budgets, and implements strategies to improve District technology infrastructure. The Director plans, budgets, and implements strategies to enhance and improve staff and student use of technology resources. The Director Manages and evaluates staff within the District's Technology Department. The Director serves as a member of the District Administration Team and exemplifies the vision, mission, and strategic goals for the District.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Recommends and implements new technologies. Installs, configures, and maintains voice, video, and data network systems including but not limited to data storage and backup, IP telephony, video surveillance, and server administration Implements internal security measures to protect the integrity of the network. Implements bench trials with testing prior to performing upgrades, modifications, and replacements of technology systems Creates and maintains communication with internal and external customers. Maintains a working knowledge of the all technology systems implemented throughout the district. In collaboration with the Technology Advisory Committee, develops three/five-year technology plan for submission to the Superintendent and to be approved by the Board of Education. Evaluates the District Technology Plan annually and keeps the Superintendent apprised of progress, changes, and implementation progress. Develops common goals with staff to improve student learning through the effective use of technology in all areas of the curriculum. Works cooperatively with the Curriculum Department in areas related to education technology integration. Stays abreast of new developments in technology, and continually researches ways in which uses of technology could be used in the district. Coordinates the purchasing of technology hardware and software throughout the district. Collaborates with State and Regional Technology Agencies to better access their services for the benefit of the district (e.g. ETech, ITC, Ed. Tech, SWOCA) Responsible for filing all necessary ERATE applications in accordance with the designated timelines. Works collaboratively with the Media Specialist, Curriculum Department, and other personnel to effectively serve staff and students. Installs, maintains, and repairs district hardware and software by following the established Technology Plan Coordinates the planning, installation and effective use of networks. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on district hardware and coordinates repair work that cannot be completed in-house. Develops and manages the district hardware inventory. Coordinates the daily operations of the Technology Department. Oversees and manages the Technology Help Desk/ Resource Center/ Technology supplies. Coordinates and or provides ongoing training and support services for all staff. Authorizes the disposal of outdated or nonfunctional equipment following board-approved procedures. Develops security and operating procedures that promote the proper use and care of technology equipment. (e.g. consent forms, records maintenance, use of E-mail and the Internet) Ensures compliance with all licensing agreements. Attends meetings and in-services as required. Participates in local, state, and national conferences and seminars. Understands the district budget, budgeting process, and spending process. Works within this system to secure adequate resources for technology. Seeks additional funds for technology through business partnerships and grants. Assists the Administration Team to establish budgetary appropriations. Maintains respect at all times for confidential information, eg student and staff records. Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual. Performs any and all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, his/her designee, or the employee's direct supervisor or his/her designee. Starting date:
