Driver / Warehouse
The Driver & Warehouse hybrid position is responsible for safely operating delivery vehicles (including our forklift and Commercial Motor Vehicles or CMVs) to transport electrical supplies to designated locations. You are expected to provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any inquiries or concerns and relaying them professionally to your other teammates. You will be expected to maintain delivery schedules and ensure timely arrival at least location and provide clear communication to customers and teammates of expected arrival dates and times. You will be expected to inspect your vehicles for mechanical and safety issues before departure, and complete necessary paperwork related to deliveries and returns as needed. This position is also responsible for various duties related to the handling of materials in the warehouse. This position receives, stores and distributes material, tools equipment and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. Reports to: Profit Center Manager Minimum Qualifications
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Be able to pass a drug screen, background and motor vehicle history check, and an annual medical certification to drive one of our Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor Lift heavy items and perform manual labor as required Read and write English proficiently and calculate basic arithmetic Be a team player and bring a positive attitude every day High School diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications
3 to 4 years of experience in material handling preferred 3 to 4 years of customer service experience preferred 2+ years' experience in Electrical supply industry preferred Working Conditions
This position operates in both a warehouse setting and with outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, as well as standard warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers. This position also requires you to use a conduit baler, truck straps and other means of security, and standard safety equipment both in the warehouse and while on deliveries. Deliver company materials to customers in a professional manner Effectively and professionally meet and communicate with the public Drive, automatic/manual transmission vehicle (safely & legally, driving violations may jeopardize your position as a driver) Shipping and receiving duties; including loading and unloading trucks Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders to determine items to picked, packed, distributed or shipped/transferred Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas. Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department Use computer and RF guns to manage sales orders, inventory and enter information into business management system Participate in cycle counting of physical inventory Open boxes and other containers Operate wire cutter to cut wire according to customer orders Operate forklift in warehouse setting Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic Assist customers at will call and walk-ins as required Compensation Range
The compensation range for this position is $18 to $20 hourly. Other Compensation
