Maintenance Technician Electrical
Venture Global LNG (Venture Global) is a long?term, low?cost provider of American?produced liquefied natural gas. The companys Louisiana?based export projects serve the global demand for U.S. natural gas and support the long?term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Globals modular, mid?scale plant design will replace traditional designs, providing the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost. The Maintenance Electrical Technician reports to the Maintenance Electrical Supervisor and performs the safe, efficient and effective execution of all electrical maintenance work at Venture Global Calcasieu Pass Liquefied Natural Gas (CPLNG) facility. The Technician works with other Technicians and Supervisors within the Operations & Maintenance departments. Responsibilities Executes preventive and corrective maintenance electrical work according to CPLNG HSSE process, procedures, standards and regulations. Adheres to VGIMS (Venture Global Integrity Management System), CPLNG Maintenance Manual and Work Management process and procedures. Identifies potential safety, health, environmental work hazards and understands applicable Operation and Maintenance processes and procedures. Performs problem?solving activities to ensure maintenance and reliability issues corrective measures are implemented; serves as Subject Matter Expert for electrical systems. Prepares and creates required Job Safety Hazard Analysis and work permits under his/her area of responsibility (ePTW as applicable). Works with maintenance and engineering counterparts to ensure the safe completion of scheduled maintenance work. Manages daily work progress reports and updates, adhering to maintenance work execution processes and procedures. Manages personal timecard according to CPLNG Policies and Procedures (vacations, time?off, sick leave, training, on?call, etc.). Supervises contractor work execution, ensuring safe completion and performance according to CPLNG Contractor Management procedure; reports contractor work quality/non?compliances to direct Supervisor and Planning/Contract teams. Provides mentoring and coaching, holding personal accountability for performance and behavior. Identifies and requests required special and routine tools/equipment/PPE for safe execution of maintenance activities. Participates in CPLNG Ready for Operations (RFO) maintenance projects, developing required maintenance systems, processes and procedures before commercial operations. Supports electrical equipment factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT, as required). Participates in pre?commissioning, commissioning, startup and operation of the CPLNG Facility, serving as a vital member of the integrated commissioning/start?up team(s) with the EPC contractor. Participates in various reviews during the Engineering and Design phases, such as HAZOPs, 3D model and P&ID reviews.
Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; technical degree in electrical or nationally recognized certification (e.g., NCCER/NICET). Minimum five (5) years of maintenance electrical technician experience in oil & gas, LNG or petrochemical facilities. Strong knowledge of electrical industrial standards and regulations (e.g., NETA, NFPA 70E/70B, NEC). Knowledge of power generation (steam turbine, HRSG, and diesel generator) and distribution. Proficiency in basic electrical testing equipment (multimeter, insulation resistance tester, micro?ohmmeter, ground resistance tester, power quality analyzer, battery tester, etc.). Applied knowledge of electrical and controls for medium and low?voltage generators, motors, switchgear, motor control centers, variable speed drives, circuit breakers, protective and network relaying, fuses, cabling, lighting, HVAC, AC inverters and DC chargers, batteries, and control systems. Familiar with CMMS systems work?management process; SAP experience preferred. Supports small/medium?scale electrical projects. Experienced with medium and low?voltage switching, motor testing and repair, transformers, motor control logic, and network relaying. Performs electrical component testing (AC/DC). Experience with grounding, corrosion cathodic protection, motor operated valves, lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
