Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced

Operating Room Technician (OR Tech)

to join our

Per Diem Surgical Services team . The OR Tech supports surgeons and perioperative staff before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient operating environment. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare the operating room with required instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures.

Scrub in and assist surgeons, maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures.

Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments or supplies promptly.

Handle and care for surgical specimens according to policy.

Count sponges, sharps, and instruments with the circulating nurse per established protocols.

Assist with room turnover, restocking, and equipment maintenance.

Adhere to infection prevention, surgical safety, and hospital regulatory standards.

Qualifications (Legally Required):

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or Operating Room Technician program

required

BLS (AHA)

certification

required

Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience

required per company policy

Certification (CST or TS-C)

preferred but not required under California law
