Travel An Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technician is a healthcare professional specializing in recording and analyzing the electrical activity of the brain to assist in diagnosing neurological conditions such as epilepsy, brain tumors, and sleep disorders.\n\nCommon Duties of an EEG Technician:\n\nPatient Preparation: Explain procedures to patients, obtain relevant medical histories, and ensure patient comfort. \n\nConducting EEG Tests: Apply electrodes to patients' scalps, operate EEG equipment, and monitor brain wave activity during tests. \n\nData Recording and Analysis: Record test results, identify and eliminate artifacts, and prepare data for physician interpretation. \n\nEquipment Maintenance: Ensure EEG equipment is properly calibrated and functioning, and perform routine maintenance.\n\nDocumentation: Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information. \n\nCollaboration: Work with physicians and healthcare teams to discuss findings and assist in patient care planning. \n\nCertification and Licensure Requirements:\n\nAs of now, there are no universal state licensing requirements for EEG technicians in the United States.
