Overview
We’re hiring experienced, multi-craft maintenance technicians to join a fast-growing advanced manufacturing operation in Knoxville. This is a full-time, hands-on opportunity to help commission, maintain, and scale an exciting new production facility that sits at the intersection of imaging and high-performance plastics.
You’ll be working with a team of external integration partners to install and maintain innovative extrusion and printing equipment used to create precision plastic products for industries ranging from consumer to security applications. From startup and calibration to ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring uptime, reliability, and performance across the plant.

Requirements
Responsibilities
Mechanical Equipment Maintenance
– Perform repairs, rebuilds, and part replacements on motors, pumps, conveyors, extrusion systems, and related mechanical components.
Electrical & Controls
– Troubleshoot low- and high-voltage systems, including sensors, relays, motors, and control panels; assist with PLC diagnostics and support automation reliability post-integration.
Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
– Maintain and repair fluid power systems including valves, cylinders, actuators, and pumps across extrusion and material handling equipment.
Commissioning & Integration Support
– Work directly with international OEM partners to install and calibrate new equipment; learn proprietary systems during startup and support long-term system reliability.
Preventive Maintenance
– Perform scheduled PMs, condition-based maintenance, and equipment inspections to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
Facility & Utilities Maintenance
– Assist with general facility upkeep, including lighting, safety systems, plumbing, and minor HVAC repairs; support infrastructure modifications as needed.
Continuous Improvement
– Identify recurring issues, recommend long-term solutions, and contribute to process enhancements and reliability-focused upgrades.
Collaboration & Documentation
– Coordinate with production and engineering teams; maintain clear, accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and downtime events in CMMS or logs.
Safety & Compliance
– Follow LOTO and all safety protocols; conduct informal risk assessments; uphold environmental and regulatory standards throughout all maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Required
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Mechanical Skills: Equipment rebuilds, alignments, mechanical troubleshooting, teardown and repair
Electrical Skills: Low- and high-voltage systems, motors, sensors, relays, 480V circuits
Pneumatics & Hydraulics: Valve maintenance, pump repair, actuator and cylinder systems
Schematics & Prints: Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams
Tools & Equipment: Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments
Communication: Strong collaboration skills and ability to clearly document work
Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights or in confined spaces, and in noisy or dusty environments
Certifications in electrical, mechanical, or industrial systems (e.g., PLC programming, HVAC, welding)
Experience in automated or extrusion-based manufacturing environments
Familiarity with CMMS platforms for maintenance tracking and reporting
A.S. degree or vocational training in industrial maintenance or related field
